OCCUPATION: James started out as a pointsman on the railway and later became a ship plater.

CENSUS: In 1881 Census, he was living at 20 Jordan Street, Govan, Lanarck, Scotland.

In 1901, he was living at 92 George Street, Whitinch, Partick

MARRIAGE: They were married under the Church of Scotland.

57. Elizabeth Ann DOCHERTY was born C1849 in Ireland.

Elizabeth agreed on marriage contract 1866, November 29th. [Parents]

CENSUS: In 1881 Census, she was living at 20 Jordan Street, Govan, Lanark, Scotland.

In 1901, she was living at 92 George Street, Whitinch, Partick

OCCUPATION: Elizabeth worked as a Weaver in the Flaxmill before she got married

MARRIAGE: Marriage witness included Joshua Docherty, possibly a brother. They were married under the Church of Scotland. Elizabeth was 19 years old.

58. Bernard MCFADYEN was born 1841 in Ireland. He died 1 1916, 6th May in 63 George Street, Whitinch, Partick. Bernard married Margaret CASSIDY in 1868. [Parents]

OCCUPATION: Ship Builders Labourer and later, a furnace keeper

DEATH: Bernard died at the age of 75 at 18h00 from acute pnemonia which he suffered with for three days. His son Thomas, reported the death.
He was living at 63 George Street, Whitinch, Partick, Lanark, and survived his wife Margaret, by five years.

PARENTS: Both of his parents, William and Jane, were deceased at the time of his death.

59. Margaret CASSIDY was born 1851 in Ireland, Irvinestown. She died 1 1912, 7th August in 62 George Street, Whitinch, Partick. [Parents]

DEATH: Margaret died of Carcinoma of the stomach, emaciation and cardiac failure at 17h00.  She was 62 years old and the death was reported by Thomas McFadyen, her son. Her husband, Bernard was still alive at the time. She was living at 62 George Street, Whitinch, Partick, Lanark.

Parents: Both of her parents, Thomas and Margaret, were deceased at the time of her death.

60. Samuel BOYD was born 1849. He died 1 1895, March 9th in 9 Muirhead Street, Partick. Samuel married Elizabeth MCCOLL (MCLAUGHLIN) on 1881, January 8th in Ahoghill, Antrim, Ireland. [Parents]

OCCUPATION: Grain Miller and Journeyman

DEATH: Died aged 46 at 02h00, from Bronchitis which he had suffered with for 16 days. His widow, Eliza, registered the death

PARENTS: His parents, Francis and Jeanie, were still alive at the time of his death.

ADDRESS: He lived at 8 Muirhead Street, Partick, Lanark

61. Elizabeth MCCOLL (MCLAUGHLIN) "Eliza" was born 1856. [Parents]

MARRIAGE: Elizabeth re-married a John McLaughlin on 31st December 1895. They were married in the Roman Catholic Faith. The details of the marriage entry are:
1896 Marriages in the District of Partick in the County of Larnark, page 12, entry 24

They were living together at the time of the marriage at 40 Orchard Street in Partick, Lanark.

One of the witnesses to her second marriage, was Martha McColl, possibly a sibling or sister in law.

62. Michael MURPHY was born 1852 and agreed on marriage contract 1881, 6th June in St Francis Chapel, Hutchesontown, Lanark. He married Mary Ann QUIGLEY on 1881, 6th June in St Francis Chapel, Cumberland Street, Glasgow. [Parents]

MARRIAGE: Michael and Mary Ann were living together at the time of their marriage, at 271 Cumberland Street in Glasgow in the district of Hutchesontown. He was previously married and was a Widower. At his second marriage, he was 29 years old.

They were married at St Francis Chapel of the Roman Catholic Church.

MARRIAGE: Michael and Mary Ann were living together at the time of their marriage, at 271 Cumberland Street in Glasgow in the district of Hutchesontown. Mary was also widowed at the time of the marriage as was working as a laundress. The marriage was witnessed by Andrew and Ellen Quigley, presumably siblings. They were married at St Francis Chapel of the Roman Catholic Church.

Her father, William was deceased at the time of her marriage.

PARENTS: At the time of her marriage to Michael, only her mother was still alive.
